San Ramon Valley Little League Wins First State Championship in 20 Years
LARKSPUR, Calif. — The San Ramon Valley Little League (SRV) 10-Year-Old District All-Star Team defeated the Chico Central 10-Year-Old All-Stars 2-0 this past Thursday evening to become the 8-10 Year Old NorCal State Champions. It is the league’s first state title since 2004.
The game was an edge-of-your-seat pitchers dual as SRV starter Camden K. was lights out and across 5.2 innings, shutting out Chico while tallying 7 strikeouts and giving up only 3 hits. SRV mustard up enough offense in the bottom of the fourth to drive in two runs thanks to a run-producing fielder’s choice by Michael P., who also scored on a wild pitch. Milo K., Camden K., Luke G., Hudson B., and Ryan B. also recorded one hit each for SRV.
With a two-run lead and only three outs remaining in the game, Chico started off the top of the sixth with a line drive into the left field corner, but as the batter stretched for a triple, left fielder Dane I. tracked down the ball and lasered it back into the infield for third basemen Miles C. to make the tag and the out. The huge play set up closer Mason H. to come in a seal the deal with a one-pitch pop up for the final out of the game.
Camden K. throws one of his seven strikeouts (first). Miles C. stops a runner with a tag out at third base (second). SRV rejoices after the last out to become NorCal State Champs (third).

The win ended a perfect summer season for the undefeated 10-year-old team who went 11-0 and won both District 57 and Section 3 championships, as well. SRV’s state championship win on Thursday is the highest achievement for any Little League team of their age, and makes them one of the top 52 10-year-old Little League teams in the entire country (California and Texas are split into two).
A huge congratulations to the following players and coaches:
