SRV 10’s Take Gold at TVLL Turf & Dirt with Triumphant Walk-Off

The SRV 10-Year-Old Tournament All-Star Team celebrates their Tassajara Valley Little League Turf & Dirt Tournament victory.

DANVILLE, Calif. — The San Ramon Valley (SRV) 10-Year-Old Tournament All-Star Team made a pair of comebacks against crosstown rival, Danville Little League, to win the Tassajara Valley Little League (TVLL) Turf & Dirt Tournament this past Thursday at Sycamore Park.

SRV trailed 5-1 in the bottom of the fourth with two outs, but then the magic began.

The first comeback started with back-to-back singles by Giorgio M. and Alex A. that helped bring the score within two runs, and continued into the fifth when Jaxon C. drilled a first-pitch single to left to tie the game, scoring both Rocco I. and Lucas M.

Jaxon’s momentum at the plate also carried over to the mound, where he pitched the final two innings and held Danville to only one run with two strikeouts.

Going into the bottom of the sixth and down by one, the stage was set for the second comeback of the game. A couple of lead-off singles by Cody B. and Rowan E. put runners in scoring position for Giorgio, who knotted the game up at six with a sacrifice fly. Then with two outs, it was Blake B. with a walk-off single to win the game and claim the TVLL Turf & Dirt championship.

Blake B. (bottom middle) knocked the walk-off single in the 6th to bring home the gold for SRV.

The win capped off the SRV 10’s undefeated performance in the tournament as they carry their five-game winning streak into their final contest of the summer, the G.I.T. Tournament hosted by Granada Little League in Livermore. Their first game is this Saturday at 9am against Dublin Little League.
