SRV 10’s Win League’s First Section Title in 20 Years
The San Ramon Valley Little League 10U District Team continued their 7-0 winning streak by defeating the hosting Hillsborough Little League of District 52 on Tuesday evening in the section finals, 5-2, and capturing the Section 3 championship—the league’s first section title in any age group since 2004.
By winning both District 57 and Section 3 championships, SRV has qualified to compete for the NorCal State Championship starting this Saturday in Larkspur, CA. NorCal consists of all the section winners as far north as the Oregon border down to Kings County, making our SRV District Team one of the top seven 10-year-old Little League teams in all Northern California.
After defeating Newark in the first round and Hillsborough in the second round of the Section tournament, SRV faced the host team again in the championship game. Starting pitcher Luke G. was dominant on the hill, throwing a one-hitter across 3.2 innings and striking out 7 of the 15 batters he faced.
Offensively, a couple of SRV rallies kept the game out reach. Brantley B., Milo K., Mason H., and Camden K. each recorded a hit, two of which came in a 4th inning rally with a 2-run double by Milo and a RBI single by Camden that put SRV up 4-0.
A huge congratulations and good luck to the following players and coaches as they begin their quest for a NorCal State Championship this Saturday:
Blake A., Jackson A., Hudson B., Brantley B., Ryan B., Miles C., Luke G., Mason H., Dane I., Milo K., Camden K., Michael P., and coaches Gus Panagotacos, John Audino, Greg Isom, and Leonard Hall.
